The thing with cithulu is that for the most part, it's out of touch with what the majority of 'underground producers' would need. Generally, I'd be using overdub to play in any type of jazzy chord progression that goes beyond my keys skills so this for me is spot on. You can also add 'strum' useful for getting a more realistic rhodes etc. Simply inputting my chord sequences in there, assigning each chord to a separate key allows me to play through them 1 finger stylee while my other hand is free to experiment with melody or bass over them. Whilst that can be cool, it doesn't seem to function as something I particularly like and the codefn42 Chordz is the best for me at that. Ie: 'Jazzy 7ths, 9ths, 11ths', then you can play in a chord ( say a Cm9 ) and it will offer you other chords that are in a jazzy vien which 'might be of interest' What it throws up can also be based on a suggestive style you tell it. Pluginboutique Scaler, is def better at the former, it contains several well known artist progressions, which being midi, can obviously be manipulated or simply taken as a source of inspiration, but more to the point, you can input a chord and it will offer other chords that may work with it/them. There's 2 ways to look at these things though, if you're interested in them to get some ideas for interesting chord progressions, they need to be able to throw those ideas up, if you're interested in them so you can input your own progressions and play them back with say 1 finger ( possibly in a live situation or simply because you're not a jazz keyboardist ) then, most ( including cithulu ) can do that.
